The Race Night fundraiser for the Adult Ladies Football on Friday was a
great success and an enjoyable night. Well done to Eamonn Naughton &
colleagues. Thanks to the sponsors and congrats to the big winner on the
night owner / trainer Kieran Duffy. Peadar O Shea and Denis Ward also
featured in the Hamper stakes.
A bad start to the hurling season. Our Seniors fought hard away to Na
Fianna but were eventually beaten by 7pts. Outstanding displays from Fionan
Clabby and Donal Gormley. Our Intermediates were beaten by a strong St
Brigids team but Jack Kelly Chris Garvan and Dave Harney had excellent
displays. In the afternoon our Junior A hurlers were beaten by Lucan Sarsfield
on the all weather. Hard luck to Colaiste Eoin in the Leinster Colleges final.
Great to have Tom, Ian, Seamus and Colm playing at this level. Beidh lá eile.
Under 16 footballers continued their winning ways following their victory
over Ballymun Kickhams with a win over Lucan Sarsfield.
Next weekend sees all our 4 Adult Football teams playing away from home.
Seniors play Skerries Harp at 10-30 in Skerries. Jun A play Craobh Chiarain in
Clonshaugh while Jun B play St Oliver Plunketts in Martin Savage Pk , both
games at 12-00. Jun C play Castleknock In Somerton Pk at 3.00 . Minor Hurling
A’s home to Naomh Mearnog at 11:00 and Minor B hurlers away to Round
Towers Clondalkin 11:00.
A great start to the league for our Senior footballers. In a bruising and physical encounter against Thomas Davis they came out 3-11 to 0-12 winners. Some great points including a some from play and frees by Aodhan Clabby and a goal from Luke Naughton left BSJ ahead by 4 points at half time, but facing into a strong wind in the second half. Some great defensive work by the backs and two great goals by Aaron Bradshaw sealed a well deserved victory. Great performances all round but particularly nice see Peter O Curry back to his best, John B Carty looking very much at home in goals in his first competitive game for BSJ and to see some of the new kids on the block, the likes of Maitiu O Suilleabhain and Michael O Croinin really putting down a marker in very intimidating circumstances.

Our AFL 5 Team got off to a winning start against a dogged Erins Isle team thus reversing last years result . Down by 1 point at ht we went 3 down 15 minutes into the second half. However the last 15 mins saw us score 2 -2 to win on a scoreline of 2-12 to 12. There were good performances from Collie Egan, Keith Piggot and Ruairi Kennedy

Our AFL 7 team beat Good Counsel 2-11 to 10. They were 3 up at halftime, and Counsel got it back one early in 2nd half but two goals from Cian Hallinan & Niall Kellegher insured Ballinteer pulled away. Everyone worked hard, great fitness levels and a lot of chances created. Tony Gillick, Jamie Murphy and Denis Healy were strong in defence, while Eoin Coffey, Cian Duffy & Seán Dunne performed well up front.

Our AFL11S team also had a great win against Good Counsel – 1-13 to 0-04. Leading by 5 points at half time into the wind, they pulled away in the second half to cap off a fantastic day for the Adult Football teams.
