U11 Footballers Win Colmcilles Tournament

Under 11 Footballers taste victory at Colmcilles’ Invitational Tournament.


Congratulations to the under 11 football panel that showed real grit and determination coupled with high levels of skill to win the St. Colmcilles’ invitational tournament in Co. Meath on Sunday. They had to overcome some worthy opposition during the group stage, beating Trim, Colmcilles from Meath and St Eunan’s of Letterkenny. By topping the group with three convincing wins Ballinteer were pitted against a hotly tipped Kilmacud Crokes team in the semi final. It looked ominous early on when Crokes showed their customary composure and built up an eight point lead. However, our boys dug deep and displayed resolve to overcome what seemed to the doubters like an insurmountable lead and came out eventual winners after a string of brilliant goals.

s it a bird? Is it a plane? No it’s Supermac(Gabhann)




Iarlaith was just one of our supermen yesterday who soared to claim the high ball in their first outing of this year’s Minor Football Championship against long-time rivals Scoil Uí Chonaill. These two teams have a history that takes in the thrilling Dublin Féile Peile Final of 2010 when Scoil clawed back an early Ballinteer lead to come within 3 points as the game entered its dying moments.
